It would really be fantastic if Family Gem could read and write on the same db with Gramps (an open source geneology software).
This way, through syncing (without converting) db files across android and PC, users could access their information on both platforms.

It would reallly be fantastic.
But aside from the huge work (I don't know anything about the Gramps API), I'm afraid it's impossible for Family Gem to read and write directly from a SQLite database: internally Family Gem uses a Json file, not SQLite, therefore a conversion would still be necessary.
Moreover, from what I see the logic of the Gramps database has some crucial differences from the Gedcom 5 Java library on which Family Gem is based.

You do not like to have open issues with "help wanted" tag ?

I'm used to solve everything by myself.. 😓
But I like to start using "help wanted" tag!

hmm, i see gramps has an export format for GEDCOM:

Maybe i will try it next week ;)
