My power toys were working normally and after update 0.31.2 the fancy zones stopped working. When trying to drag the windows with Shift nothing happens and when I click on the try icon it doesn't open anymore. Then I finish the process in the task manager and start again. It works for a short time and locks again. I uninstalled and deleted the folder in the appdata and went back to the previous version but it didn't work.

The report bug option is not working for me. I get a message that a .zip file was created on the desktop but nothing was generated.

the Report Bug tool is a very simple application and this is the first time someone reports that is not working.
That is very unusual and it maybe an indication that there is some more serious problem on your machine.

Open a command prompt and type

cd "C:\Program Files\PowerToys\Tools"

then run the tool from the command line

BugReportTool.exe

if it detects any error it will print out the problem found.

@IQndk Here problem started recently. I believe it was after the latest Windows updates. In my case PowerToys even opens at startup. However after a short period it crashes. The tray icon has no action when clicking.

I figured out the my problem started after KB4601319 was installed.
It has a influence in Asus GPU Tweak II when the OSD is turned on.
So 3 fixes was possible:

  1. Uninstall KB4601319
  2. Uninstall Asus GPU Tweak II
  3. Disable OSD in Asus GPU Tweak II (What i ended with)

In extend to Powertoys it also corrupted:

  • Notepad
  • Windows Terminal
  • Event Viewer
  • Some windows settings functions like Reset and Troubleshoot
  • Many more

According to this thread the problem should be fixed in the newest version of Asus GPU Tweaks II
