Working with the CPPTools executable (LSP)

Hi all,
It's the first time I am writting here. I am very new to the language server protocol.
I've been playing around with LSP the past few days and managed to connect and use clangd, to get the symbols of a file, however the CPPTools by microsoft works way better in this regard so I wanted to try it instead, however whenever I send a request like:

Can you give me any pointers or ideas why this might happen?
The absolute same behavior works properly with clangd-12.

Just a quick note in order to use this libarary I had to patch a regex in https://github.com/yeger00/pylspclient/blob/master/pylspclient/json_rpc_endpoint.py

Hi @ivanmilevtues,

We don't strictly use the LSP for our language server. There are a number of other undocumented messages we send back and forth to the C/C++ extension and our cpptools binaries are not licensed for general use, which is why we haven't documented them.

Thank you for the response! I didn't notice that the binaries have a special license, in this case I will look into some of the other language servers that exist. It's a pitty, because it seems that your symbol extraction is state of the art :).
