Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create an empty workspace, without a .vscode folder.
  2. Try to run the default build task.
  3. When it fails, click "Configure Build Task" and then "Create tasks.json from template".
  4. Nothing happens. No tasks.json file is created.

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes
