Add a new field to the database called Notes. Currently Mixxx does not edit any existent tags in audio files but rather only updates its own local database. I on a semi-regular basis reload metadata from file as I do use other programs to update other fields (mainly simple changes like syntax, not that it matters.) If anything was added to Comments (such as a note that this track is 7/4 time or the BPM changes at 3:14 would be lost on this action.
I suggest a new field which is within the data base only. not in reference to any real field in any supported file format accepted by Mixxx. As such I don't know if the name for the field being Notes is suitable but hopefully it gives the correct idea.
This ties to a small extent to a second idea (Performance Mode) for which I am about to create a separate request...
