Goal:

As a Community member
I would like to have clear directions on how to install the mojaloop environment on Windows.

@RobReeve recently tried to get up and running with mojaloop following the deployment guide here. We took the following notes of places where we can improve the docs:

  • Docs mention "Deployment" then talks about local development, perhaps we should rename
  • Should we use MicroK8s or not? Not clear, since Docker for Windows also installs Kubernetes
  • Start proxy for Kubernetes dashboard in new terminal:
    • it's not clear on what to expect or why to run this command
  • localhost.com, not localhost in proxy url
  • no clear instructions on installing helm
  • You need to install Chocolatey with Powershell
    • not Command Prompt
    • Failed as Admin, worked as PowerShell as Admin
  • Go through the postman import collection and library instructions
    • import the entire folder
  • Kubernetes and Helm knowledge is a MUST
    • need to make this more clear
    • need to make getting started with kubernetes and helm links more obviousotes on things that would make the deployment document easier to follow (especially from a windows perspective):

Tasks:

  • update the deployment/local environment guide to better cater for Windows users
