I have a PS3 controller connected to my Chromebook via USB and have verified the input works fine in ChromeOS using a HTML5 control pad testing website - the controller is identified as PS3 controller and all buttons register input.

When I launch a game through Moonlight the controller is not registered and nothing works.

The controller is recognised in Moonlight to some extent, however. If I launch a remote desktop (ie I control the host PC's desktop), I can open a browser and go to the same HTML5 based website as above and my controller is recognised (as an xbox 360 controller as I have the PS3 controller working on the host PC using SCPServer) and all buttons respond to input. Also, when I launch a game and press the home button on the PS3 controller I will get a response from the xbox controller overlaying the game fromthe xbox controller software on the host PC, but still nothing registers in the game.

So what I am saying is that I know the controller is recognised in ChromeOS and recognised in Moonlight if I am using it on remote desktop, but it will not be picked up when I launch any of my games.

@Danzig67 But what if you pass the controller using moonlight and not scpserver?

@jorys-paulin I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean. If I ensure that SCP Server is not started, I get the exact same results as described above.

@Danzig67 For me, It means that this controller isn't just straight supported. Sorry.

@jorys-paulin That's a pity. I'm sure it has something to do with SCP Server messing with things, because generally the PS3 standard controller is usually supported in Moonlight from what I have seen. Just can't figure it out.

@Danzig67 Well if you can just install it, see if that's the problem.

@Danzig67 Is there any news? Have you tried un-installed scpserver?

No update I'm afraid. Uninstalling scpserver did not make any difference, so maybe the PS3 controller just doesn't work in this set up.

I am going to buy an xbox controller instead when I have some spare money and try that.

Thanks for checking in. It was a very frustrating experience!

@Danzig67 Unfortunately we can't really do anything about it since we're depending on Chrome to support game controllers. Apparently, Chrome doesn't like your controller. I hope you aren't mad at us for that.
