The FUTURES model

The FUTURES model accurately simulates patterns of urbanization based on population projections. It is part of larger endeavors to make the a simulation of urbanization scalable to large regional extents. Eventually, this should allow for the simulation of urbanization at the scale of entire continents, while still including the social processes that influence these land changes.
