I would like to request a new subcommand called "refresh" with a source as argument or alternatively a flag to "update" subcommand. The aim of such subcommand/flag would be to update checksum.
The reason for such operation would be to fix cases where content of a specific tag was updated, without having to drop/re-add the source.

Makes sense. What about niv update --force?
