This release allows installing Puppy Linux from a mounted CD, or from a directory (of an extracted ISO). This makes putting LICK directly on ISOs more useful.

This release also includes a few fixes and a bunch of code cleanups. Most of this work makes future improvements to LICK easier, especially surrounding the UI and error handling.

Features:

  • Install from CDs and directories
  • Use the Windows drag and drop API directly

Fixes:

  • Fix some errors that led to crashes

This includes a few cleanup items, as well as a new feature: support for systems that only boot /EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi. To use this, open the Help menu and go to "Nothing happens on reboot".

Features:

  • Support machines that only support booting /EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi (#11, #13). Special thanks to Wognath for reporting and testing this.
  • Grub2 is now a standalone file, installed using bcdedit. This should make installing and uninstalling the bootloader faster on UEFI systems, as well as making installing or uninstalling LICK faster on all systems.

Fixes:

  • Don't include leading slash for psubdir (#8).
  • Libarchive has been updated to 3.3.1.
  • Grub2 has been updated to 2.02 (#9).

Features:

  • Add version flag to cli.
  • Add about dialog to gui.

Fixes:

  • Correctly install on 9x/NT systems when Windows is on a different drive than config.sys/boot.ini.
  • Don't delete the grub menu when uninstalling the bootloader if it has valuable contents.
  • Fix grub4dos, allow it to search for lickmenu.lst on all drives.

If you are upgrading, you do not need to uninstall anything before upgrading. Simply download and install the v1.1 exe to the same location as your current installation.
