I like to keep a local copy, which I edit using Obsidian. Obsidian is a fantastic tool for working with markdown, and plays very well with the rest of the technology in cat-wiki. There's a git plugin for Obsidian, but I haven't tried it out yet. I just use command line git to sync up to github. I mostly use the desktop app, but there's mobile too. It's free to use (although they have some paid services, I don't find them necessary).
So far, I haven't added anything Obsidian specific to cat-wiki, but that's an option if other folks want to use it that way.
