when we say "images" we mean pictures of the cart and the PCB. Please read the README and then post the proper information here.

@dark-samus click on the arrow next to "Images" to view the images.

Sorry, new issue template. reason why they're hidden by default was to try and help reduce overall clutter.

Edit: Adding "(Click to Expand)" to the template to make it obvious, so I edited your post as well.

I'd like to note that the ace3ds+ has been found to be the same as a Blue Gateway flashcart.

This gbatemp post has quite a lot of information suggesting the carts are the same.

To support this, I tested the ace3ds+ updates (Wood and AOS) on my Blue Gatway to find they work perfectly. An untrimmed rom dump I got from my Blue Gateway is identical to the "SPONGEBOB AP_AL3E78_00.nds" posted above, and my Chip ID and HW Rev match those posted above as well (00000FC2 and 00000000 respectively).

The gbatemp post also has two update roms at the bottom for download, and my Blue Gateway works with this ace3ds+ update in particular, saying that it's already been updated to the latest version.

@az4521 is there any way you can get me the numbers on that chip with the blueish-greenish dot on it?

Interestingly, both my plus's have slightly different hardware.

Newer (spongebob) is on the left both times. (older is alex rider)

Also something to note is there was a "ace3ds_fix_all" file on older versions of ace3ds's website. Not sure if for plus's at all.
ace3ds_fix_all.zip
This is able to tell my 2 apart

I did a bindiff to compare the one @Craftyawesome posted and the one from the gbatemp link I posted to find that they're identical.

A bindiff is also how I compared the Blue Gateway Spongebob rom and the ace3ds+ Spongebob rom in the original post to find them to be identical as well.

@zaksabeast if I modified an updater, would you be willing to attempt to flash your GW blue card? Please note that it may brick the card if things don't go well.

@dark-samus I know you aren't addressing me, but I can sacrifice my old one.

OK, I've figured out how to patch it so that it won't give the "Don't need any patch" message. @Craftyawesome do you have a GW blue card or an ace3ds+?

@TheGreekBoy @zaksabeast can you guys take your carts apart and show me the internals? Trying to get a handle on which ones can be updated and which ones can't. So far, the ones with spongebob seem to be the ones that work with the Ace3ds+ SW.

@angelsl - I tried reflashing that card with kaioderp's backup assuming it was no big deal about the header bytes ... bad assumption. I guess the jason's .nds dumper doesn't read the header correctly.

zoogie commented Jan 15, 2018

@angelsl - tried restoring the clean backup on the good card and was successful (using SDHC).
Still no luck with it working with 2GB card though. I really don't think it's worth caring about given the rarity of those cards nowadays anyway.

I have the ACE3DS PLUS(Spongebob) Flashed to NTRboot and works. TThere will be a ntrboot_flasher.firm to restore it using the backup?
Thanks!

If someone needs to do some testings, hit me up.
I can provide dumps if they are needed.

There is already ntrboot flasher firm for ace3ds plus, but I need the nds file, I dont have another modified 3ds to use the firm, is there any possibility to update the flashcart launcher?

i would advise against linking these old builds since they are unmaintained

But yeah, @siestasagrada use the one @jason0597 linked :)

thanks guys for your answers, I tried the Jason´s latest build and I still got an error "flashcart setup failed", and in the log says "[ERROR]: Ace3DSPlus: RDID still FFFFFF after init", I formatted the sd to fat32 to see if there was any change but I got the same result. Should I format the sd or change it? I dont where the problem is so I dont know what to do.

MRiCEQB commented Apr 2, 2018

No, but is that everything that's in there?

It should be something like this:
[ERROR]: Ace3DSPlus: tryBlowfishKey: init key1 (key = 0) failed: 11
[ERROR]: Ace3DSPlus: tryBlowfishKey: init key1 (key = 1) failed: 11
[ERROR]: Ace3DSPlus: tryBlowfishKey: init key1 (key = 2) failed: 11

[ERROR]: Ace3DSPlus: tryBlowfishKey: init key1 (key = 0) failed: 11
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus version: 22A00000
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus: spiRdid: FFFFFF
[ERROR]: Ace3DSPlus: SD init timed out

@siestasagrada

Sometimes I just get the error one, but I got this as well:
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus version: 22330000
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus: spiRdid: FFFFFF
[ERROR]: Ace3DSPlus: RDID still FFFFFF after init

@MRiCEQB

MRiCEQB commented Apr 2, 2018

Hmmm it's strange that you sometimes get something different.

Here is my logfile, I know it doesn't help you, but our versions don't seem to be too far apart:

[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus version: 22330080
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus: spiRdid: 138020
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus: spiRdid: 1540EF
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus RDID: 1540EF
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus version: 22330080
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus: spiRdid: 1540EF
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus: spiRdid: 1540EF
[INFO]: Ace3DSPlus RDID: 1540EF

Maybe this will help some devs.

Sometimes when I load the nds and select the ace3ds plus option the program says flashcard setup failed, and sometimes it just freezes and I have to restart the cart, I dont know what to do at this point but I appreciate your help.
