Observed some delay in notepad #12191

Steps to reproduce:

  • open the notepad.
  • Type any 1 letter in it.
  • Keep pressing left arrow

Actual behavior:

When we keep pressing left arrow, some delay has been observed to announce the typed letter.
When we press down arrow or up arrow, the delay is not there.

Expected behavior:

Delay should not be there.

System configuration

NVDA installed/portable/running from source:

Installed.

NVDA version:

2020.4

Windows version:

Windows 20H2

Name and version of other software in use when reproducing the issue:

Notepad.

Other information about your system:

Other questions

Does the issue still occur after restarting your computer?

Yes.

Have you tried any other versions of NVDA? If so, please report their behaviors.

No - not tried on other versions.

If add-ons are disabled, is your problem still occurring?

Yes.

Did you try to run the COM registry fixing tool in NVDA menu / tools?

No.

With blanks, the same can be observed by pressing right arrow as well!

100 ms is a serious delay, and this happens in most textboxes.
