Observed some delay in notepad #12191
Comments
I can replicate this.
The delay happened every time, but after doing it about 30 times, I got the
following in the log:
DEBUG - editableText.EditableText._hasCaretMoved (02:47:23.971) - MainThread
(14292):
Caret didn't move before timeout. Elapsed: 100 ms
It is a rather small delay, but it does seem to be there.
I'm using ESpeak, on alpha 21974 and 22006 (latest).
You don't even have to type; you can observe it with the blank.
|
With blanks, the same can be observed by pressing right arrow as well! |
100 ms is a serious delay, and this happens in most textboxes. |
@XLTechie, @gauravahir28, @SeanTolstoyevski are you still having this issue with NVDA 2024.1? |
I can not seem to replicate this now on Windows 11, and recent alphas.
However, original tests are on Windows 10, and I do not have current access to
Windows 10.
Therefore I don't trust my results as definitive for issue closure.
