Adobe reader 8/9 loses screen contents after menu activity nvda/f5 restores, no errors #755

In Windows xp sp3, which is all I have, Adobe reader works fine until you pull down a menu,. If you collapse this menu with no action, then the screen contents do not appear to nvda any more unless a refresh is performed with nvda/F5
Interestingly, selecting the properties item, then collapsing will also bring the ability to cursor through the text back again. Nothing obvious in the log that I could see.

Switching away to another task will also bring the content back as readable on return, but only if you actually switch, ie let go of alt tab!
