After v17.0.0, we will focus on octokit.js – the all batteries included client for the GitHub platform. ★ Complete support of v3 REST API, v4 GraphQL API, Webhooks and Apps. ★ The architecture will be modular and pluggable, @octokit/rest itself will become a plugin used by octokit. Higher level APIs for common use cases like creating a pull request while changing multiple files can be created as octokit plugins. Some plugins will be officially supported, but we are looking for many plugins from the community, too. And if you look for a smaller bundle/build size, you will be able to compile an Octokit client based on your needs, including the ability to replace core plugins ★ octokit will implement best practises such as throttling requests.
