Hi, I recently tried to understand what osc2 is about and the README was, well, of little help to get clueless people (me) started. (;
I suggest something like the following, to make understanding its purpose, as well as finding the various status update emails, easier. (Feel free to change any part of it, I'm just a clueless newbie and glued the infos together from various mails.)

osc2 is an object-oriented rewrite of the Open Build Service command line
tool, osc.

Its aim is to improve the code structure and to get rid of inconsistent and
redundant commands in the first version of osc.
osc2 is developed as a separate tool in order not to break compatibility in
the first osc.

osc2 was developed in a number of Google Summer of Code (GSoC) projects, and
condensed status reports were given regularly on the Open Build Service
mailing list (http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/), in 2011 as
"osc code cleanup", and in 2012 as "osc2 client".
