If you currently remove the first option, then you end up with a blank page, reason being is the $('#vtabs a:first').trigger('click'); is called before the deletions, just need to move it after.

If you currently remove the first product option in the admin product page, then you end up with blank in the 'option area', reason being is the $('#vtabs a:first').trigger('click'); is called before the deletions, just need to move it after you delete the option.
The problem is very minor.
