3d Printed Enclosure

Andres Meira edited this page May 13, 2021 · 3 revisions

We have created a 3d printed enclosure that:

  • Allows easy fixing to a wall using flanges on either side of the box
  • Securely houses the board so that no vibrations are allowed within
  • Features a snap-on lid to reduce need for additional screws
  • Features a translucent lid to allow internal LEDs to shine through, providing an alarm function

You can make your own enclosure for the device using these instructions.

Where to get the files

You can get all the files and print information here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4854991

How to mount board

Ideally you should use the base file provided and M3 brass inserts, which provide a more secure connection between board and case.

To install the inserts you can use a soldering iron and gently heat them up whilst placed over each hole. Then push until they are totally embedded in the plastic. You can see an example of this here.
