This patch removes most of "dirty fix #1" which is no longer needed (no dependency on python-pygobject-dev exists). A side effect is that the pygtk code generator will also be installed. [Yocto #7453] Corrects the original commit for the patch that removed ARM ptest CFLAGS settings. Since the flags could be set by a user, the flags should be kept in place during compilation. By keeping the original up-stream CFLAGS for the tests, then additional tests successfully compile for all tested ARM tunings. However, there were still two tests listed below that did not compile for any beaglebone tuning that is valid for valgrind. With the updated patch, the set of excluded ARM ptests and their respective build failures are: intdiv - fails for all beaglebone tunings with 2 errors: {standard input}:(40 or 41): Error: selected processor does not support Thumb mode `udiv r3,r9,r10' {standard input}:(72 or 73): Error: selected processor does not support Thumb mode `sdiv r3,r9,r10' vcvt_fixed_float_VFP - fails for all beaglebone tunings in one of two ways: with neon tuning (-mfpu=neon) fails with Internal Compiler Error without neon tuning fails with 3 errors: {standard input}:33: Error: selected FPU does not support instruction -- `vcvt.f32.s32 s15,s15,#1' {standard input}:58: Error: selected FPU does not support instruction -- `vcvt.f32.s32 s15,s15,#32' {standard input}:136: Error: selected FPU does not support instruction -- `vcvt.f32.u32 s15,s15,#1' After applying this commit, the valgrind ARM ptests compile without errors for tunings: armv7[t][hf][b][-neon] cortexa8[t][hf][-neon] where the tuning [option] was successfully compiled, both with and without the 'option', and in combination with all other options. When we do an upgrade from one tarball version to another we want to: 1) Check out the old version as a new branch 2) Record the changes between the old and new versions as a commit 3) Check out the old version with patches applied 4) Rebase that onto the new branch Where we went wrong was step #1 where instead we checked out the old version with patches applied as the new branch, which meant the rebase didn't do anything and any changes made by the patches to files still in the new version were wiped out. After checking the code, this issue happens on gcc 12, kirkstone is using gcc 11 works well, with both using the exact same v5.15.84 kernel commit. There is a kernel fix from upstream [1], they changed the rsize / wsize to a multiple of PAGE_SIZE, when we applied this patch, the qemuppc64's default r/wsize went from 4096 to 524288.But the qemuppc64 doesn't have its own linux-yocto kernel branch, so apply this change might cause regression with other platforms which share branch with qemuppc64. So, we added an extra option for nfs rootfs, and set the qemuppc64 default r/w size to 524288 to line up with the kernel fix[1]. Yocto did a similar thing in the distant past[2] - prior to boot-arg adjustments existing - by allowing a Kconfig to set the defaults on nfsboot, in order to work around hardware limitations. [YOCTO #15162] when doing devtool modify, sources are extracted into a devtool temporary workdir. The main source is moved inside build/workspace/sources/${BPN}/ and local files are moved inside build/workspace/sources/${BPN}/oe-local-files. Secondary sources are currently not handled and are lost.
