…dows Add a test showing that the repo can clone OK on Windows Self-reviewing because this only affects the test suite. It does mean the test suite now requires git, which is weird. If that's ever a problem for someone we can deal with it then.

This is somewhat hackish, but also works great, as far as I can tell.
