Release Notes

Important Highlights/Notices

  • SLURM builds in this release have been updated to the v18.08 series. Please see the SLURM release notes for details on upgrade procedures from previous versions; in particular, sites leveraging slurmdbd are advised to update this component first.

  • CI testing during this release found that MPI applications linked against newer versions of Intel MPI (2019.x) may no longer execute outside of the resource manager. If observed locally, users are advised to try setting the following environment variable as highlighted in this online discussion:

    $ export FI_PROVIDER=sockets

  • Warewulf now packages iPXE in an architecture-specific RPM. Upgrading from previous versions will require installing warewulf-provision-server-ipxe-aarch64-ohpc or warewulf-provision-server-ipxe-x86_64-ohpc.

  • There are significant changes included in the warewulf-httpd.conf file that ships with the warewulf-provision-server-ohpc package. If upgrading from a version prior to OpenHPC v1.3, the updated config file will be saved as /etc/httpd/conf.d/warewulf-httpd.conf.rpmnew locally. You will need to copy this new version to the production file and restart the web server to ensure correct provisioning behavior. As an example for CentOS:

    [sms]# cp /etc/httpd/conf.d/warewulf-httpd.conf.rpmnew /etc/httpd/conf.d/warewulf-httpd.conf
    [sms]# systemctl restart httpd
