When a German user wants to map a dentist (in German Zahnarzt) and uses the preset "Zahnarzt" in iD, the tag "amenity=doctor" gets set.
When the user sets amenity=dentist by hand the translation just names it generic as "Einrichtung".
This behaviour shows up at the iD instance at OSM as well as at the development version 5ba5d80 on http://openstreetmap.us/iD/

Having had a look at transifex amenity=doctor and amenity=dentist is translated correctly into German since 2 months.

Information would be helpful when/how often translations from transifex make it to the development/deployed version of iD.

this is actually not related to the translations, but a typo in the preset file for dentists. Should be fixed with the patch above.
