Midpoints repeatedly overdrawn when dragging

When you drag a node around, the midpoints of the unaffected sections of the way are repeatedly overdrawn, leading to solid black outlines (presumably as the transparency stacks up).

Look carefully at the left-most two midpoints in the screenshots below, as a distant node is dragged downwards.
