After building and installing SPL in Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64, doing a ./configure; make [with or without explicitly pointing to the kernel source] causes cc1 to bail with the following error:
/root/zfs/zfs-0.4.9/module/zfs/dsl_deleg.c: In function ‘dsl_deleg_get’:
/root/zfs/zfs-0.4.9/module/zfs/dsl_deleg.c:364: error: the frame size of 1040 bytes is larger than 1024 bytes

This is with a freshly updated system, running kernel version 2.6.32-22

This bug is a duplicate of issue #18. The issue relates to stack usage which I know must be decreased further and I'll try to do with the next tag.

Prevent deadlock in arc_read in Linux memory reclaim callback

Using zfs with Lustre, an arc_read can trigger kernel memory allocation
that in turn leads to a memory reclaim callback and a deadlock within a
single zfs process. This change uses spl_fstrans_mark and
spl_trans_unmark to prevent the reclaim attempt and the deadlock
(https://zfsonlinux.topicbox.com/groups/zfs-devel/T4db2c705ec1804ba).
