I am managing an open source project, named testssl.sh which is nowadays packaged in most Linux distros and also for Mac's homebrew.
It's been a github project since 2014 and was maintained some place else before.
At a certain point of time I wanted to move the repo to a new organization, to be created -- not related to my name anymore. That name however is taken: https://github.com/testssl . That is an account which showed one activity in 2016 .
Two questions:
Isn´t github deleting such stale accounts after a period of time, maybe on request?
There's no trademark on my project name however as I am working in the security industry: I find it a bit concerning that in my perception it seems there's check for conflicts, or is it? The owner from that organization could do some harm and distribute code which appears to be legitimate.
