Add labels to workflow_dispatch runs

I have a workflow that launches some integration tests by me. To reduce code duplication it is one composite workflow that takes inputs to select the test suite.

To allow devs to run this test suite manually I create a workflow that runs with workflow_dispatch and takes the test suite to run as a parameter. All this works great but on the workflow runs screen it is very hard to tell which test suite was actually run without inspecting the logs of a workflow run.

I think we need to be able to set labels on the runs so that we can differentiate runs with different inputs. Something like:

Either that or the runs are automatically labeled with workflow_dispatch inputs.

They would then be displayed like this:

Thanks @daltonv - we've talked about this problem a bit and I appreciate this additional information. We do have this on the backlog but I'll make sure that this is captured because I think that this is a good illustration of the problem.

@ethomson Another problem is that the branch that it was run on isn't displayed for workflow_dispatch (and scheduled).

Thanks for fixing this! And it is great that it fixed previous executions and not just new ones. Bonus!

While this is good, it's unfortunately still not good enough. Why is labels on workflow_dispatches not an option? Either that or allow us to add dynamic dispatch input variables to the top level name attribute? Let me explain, we have 20+ domains where we deploy using github workflows... it is utterly difficult to distinguish right now where the build -> test -> deploy went to because it is taken from an INPUT... If it wasnt for k8s bound slack triggers me and our devops team would go utterly insane.

Some QoL on workflows is utterly needed...

We are seriously considering now to simply move to gitlab with our entire stack due to github workflow limitations and bugs.
