[Markdown] The footnote marks used in the header are displayed in the summary menu.

I used a footnote in the header of the Markdown document. This footnote will be displayed in the summary menu, which is not the desired effect. The summary menu should only show the content of the title, but should not show the footnote mark, which is easy to make people misunderstand.

That is just how it is.
If you are wanting to make it not like that, you would have to have an external link to something outside of GitHub, like a google doc or something like that.

Maybe I'm not quite following you. Do I change the footnotes to hyperlinks?

Footnotes are usually used in plain text. Not headers.
It doesn't surprise me that they wont work with headings.

Thank you for your answer. Perhaps it is possible to use footnotes in headings, such as: The fourth chapter of The book "JavaScript: The First 20 Years" has a footnote in its title, but it is not shown in The menu.

Sure, its probably possible in some case scenarios (to use footnotes in both titles and/or menu items). Looks kind of awkward to me.
Usually they are found in the body of a text though. Which looks more correct.
