Unable to be Verified no matter what I do [Student Verification]

Hi everyone,

I am a student studying in GIIS, Abu Dhabi, UAE. I want to enroll for the Student Education Pack, but At the step of uploading the Student ID, it just keeps on saying this:

Your application cannot be reviewed until you fix the following:

• You are unlikely to be verified until you have completed your GitHub user profile with your full name as it appears in your academic affiliation document plus a short bio.

I have tried to verify countless times, added my full name to my Bio and "My Name" in the Github Profile, have added my school email (alongside my regular gmail), added my school's website link to in the Profile area also. Nothing works...

I have also tried to do this from my phone yet it does not work.

If anyone has any help/solutions, please help me. Thanks :D

Ok well, @mia45943 's comment didn't work for like the first two days, then I decided to upload only one of the ID cards (I have two, one for bus one for the school, the bus one has the academic Year; Uploaded the bus one). And well what do ya know, it worked. Maybe the Verification was more clearly able to see the Acd. Year or so I am not sure but It worked. Waiting for approval now.

I literally cannot think of anything else to edit/change or to add anything in my Profile... this is getting kind of annoying

I believe this is a violation of privacy. If GitHub staff need to verify the identity of an account, there should be a dedicated verification process within the account. Instead of disclosing my real-life identity to the whole world, which can be frightening and unsettling.

There should be specific account options that are only accessible when staff require identity verification. Only the staff should have the ability to view it.

My friend, I think we should raise this as a topic for discussion.

I had the same problem but now I can't re-apply.
When I click "Process my application" it says

"Your application cannot be reviewed until you fix the following:
Your uploaded proof has already been used previously."

Often this common pre-processing warning is displayed because the application detects differences between your profile information and the evidence you’ve supplied. We do request that students can demonstrate that their GitHub account corresponds with the evidence given. The verification process looks at your GitHub username, email, and name (as well as other points) to cross-reference the evidence submitted, so be sure that they match to ensure a smoother process.

We are extremely proud that the GitHub Global Campus has provided millions of students with access to some of the industry’s most amazing tools and offers all free of charge to compliment their studies. As you can imagine there are many types of academic verification and our system is constantly evolving to accommodate this without setting the bar too high.
However, sometimes we may require a little more evidence from the student applying to help us verify their academic status. This can be due to the system detecting a pattern used by bad actors or simply processing a new type of evidence. While submitting requested information is voluntary, we do thank students for providing this if possible as it speeds up their verification.

While we do take our Community’s feedback seriously we are also mindful to ensure that bad actors impersonating students don't jeopardize our ability to provide academic benefits of value. One aspect of this protection is momentarily compare the evidence provided against your GitHub account information.

I can confirm that once you have submitted your application you can revert this information as it's only required upon each new submission. For more information on how GitHub processes and uses personal data, please see the GitHub Privacy Statement.

We would also suggest that when you update your profile information that you log out and log back into GitHub before re-applying. 👈 I suspect this would be helpful when re-applying.

Hey! After a long break, and some time off retrying, I decided to try again. But this time I put my IRL name wherever I could. In the Display/Username I put... It then worked! Thanks for the help ya'll

Anyone who isn't able to get in, just try what i did. Hope ya'll get in too!
