Hello GitHub Community,
Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for the incredible work that you do, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation on GitHub.
I would like to discuss a constraint I have encountered in relation to tag limits for projects. For the ongoing development of my project, I have realized that the current tag limit has been maximized. You can independently check that all the selected tags for the project actually reflect its capabilities, and are not selected in order to be. The existing tags are representative and essential to the project’s nature, showcasing its diverse functionalities.
As I am enthusiastic about introducing new features such as music composition and a neural network for generating video content through text queries, the restriction on tag limits poses a challenge. The inability to add more descriptive tags hinders the project’s visibility and discoverability both within GitHub’s search and through external search engines. Consequently, this limitation impacts my ability to effectively share and promote my project within the community and beyond, restricting me to platforms like Dev.to, Habr, and YouTube.
In light of this, I kindly request consideration for an increase in the number of allowable tags, perhaps by an additional five or more, to accommodate the growing diversity and complexity of projects.
Moreover, I propose the introduction of tag groups to streamline search and navigation further. For instance, various terminologies pertain to speech recognition, so consolidating them into a unified tag group would enhance the user experience and improve searchability.
I believe these enhancements will not only benefit my project but also contribute to a more user-friendly and inclusive GitHub platform, aiding developers in finding and understanding code more efficiently.
Thank you for considering my suggestions. I hope this helps improve GitHub's code search and navigation functionality.
