Accessing data from generator in template

I have a generator that creates some stats about my blog (post count, word count, averages, etc.). I also have a template file that I want to use to render those stats out to a new page (at /stats/index.html). My return object from the generator looks like this:

    path: 'stats/index.html',
    data: stats, // This is an object 
    layout: 'stats'
};

I can't figure out how to access that data value from the template (stats.ejs in this case). For instance, postCount is a property of the stats object. Trying to render <%= postCount %>, <%= stats.postCount %>, or <%= data.postCount %> all return various errors about things being undefined.

Any suggestions?

Of course I figured this out right after posting. Apparently it's part of the page object that can be used from within the template. So the correct way in the example above would be <%= page.postCount %>.
