I'm not the dev but for other providers this works. You should be able to pull a playlist down from Deezer via the sync. Add or remove from the playlist and then sync again and MA updates the provider. Having said that there is a frontend bug at the moment preventing adding and removing to the playlist.

I'm not really seeing the "start radio mode". I'm running the docker version of mass but when I browse an artist for example through the Deezer music provider I can only some albums / tracks and no radio mode.

Only when clicking on a specific track I can select the Start Radio Mode

Docker image is based on:

I think what is going on is the OP is trying to do this via BROWSE and not the through the LIBRARY

I was actually not aware we could right click.
Next to that I was trying to reach the menu via the HOME page;
But indeed it only works through the library and not through BROWSE;

Maybe the HOME page right click is something to add.
From a UI perspective it is not very user friendly.

Another idea might be to add a Three dot button on the album / track / artist photo to show there is a context menu available. (And then show it with a click, or a right click as today)

I have two deezer accounts (Mine and my wife one's ;)). Try to select music from both but same Flow account is launched all the time.
An idea how to deal with it ?

Hi!, the tracks are sorted "randomly" if i choose "position" or "position deccending"
Not by date added for me.

Thats when i got to "playlist" my deezer playlists which I added as favorites

For me it shows correctly 🤔 In the sense that it shows the oldest first when sorted by posistion and newest first when sorted by positions (descending)
It might be because you installed and synced MA in a earlier version of MA where i hadent added track sorting yet. You could try to remove the deezer provider and readd it and see if it fixes the problem

I was really thrilled when I read, that Music Assistant gets deezer support. Really appreciate your efforts!

Wierd issue, its working perfectly for me 🤔

Have you checked that you fufill all the requirements stated in the initial post?

If this does not work make sure you:

• Are on the same network as Music Assistant
• Can access Music Assistant using its IP address
• Have a Hifi/Premium/Family account
• Are on the latest Music Assistant version

Could you maybe give a bit more information about your setup? Like what computer is it running on (raspberry pi?), is it running as an addon in Home Assistant, and stuff like that ? 🙂

After installing the Addon, Home Assistant showed me a wrong IP, not fitting to my IP scheme. After exposing the port in the settings, I could reach the Music Assistant UI via the right IP:8095 in Firefox browser.

I tried Music Assistant once a few months ago. Therefore I thought it makes sense to un- and reinstall everything.

I am running pi-hole with unbound as recursive DNS. I disabled blocking and updated the gravity while I was trying to authenticate.

Adding Radio Browser and streaming to any speaker works just fine <3. I didn't try anything else so far.

Yeah that was my initial thought as well.. but it dosnt seems so. Unless its something they roll out gradually and i havent recieved the changes yet. But i dont think so.

Yes, it should open a oauth popup window. Might be your browser blocking the popups? If it dosnt open anything that would definitetly be a problem.

Also make sure you can access the relay service at https://deezer.oauth.jonathanbangert.com/

It seems to rely on the browser. It worked with Brave, but not with Firefox and the the macOS Home Assistant App.
My daughter will be woken up in the morning with her favorite music in the future :)

I've recently (last few weeks) been having issues when trying to play music from Deezer. It seems that some percentage of songs are just unable to play. When I try to listen to my playlist of favorited tracks, I'd say that a good 30 percent just never start playing, and will cause the playlist to stop entirely. I'm casting to a Chromecast speaker group, but it doesn't appear to work for individual Chromecasts either. I've cleared cache, and changed default format from FLAC to MP3 with no improvement. I don't have this issue when playing music from my local Plex server source (or at least I haven't encountered it yet after many plays).

Ok, I think I figured it out. It's songs that I've had in playlists for a long period of time. I just took one of the songs and removed it from all of my Deezer playlists, and then resynced Deezer in Music Assistant so that the track was completely removed from my library. Then I re-added the track to a playlist in Deezer and synced again, and the track suddenly works. It's almost like they're cached with an old id or something, and while they continue to work in Deezer fine, that ID is not sufficient for music assistant.

Edit: it appears that simply going to the artist in question, choosing remove from library, and then resyncing Deezer is enough to fix them. I also see that when browsing to the artist the track is grayed out (it isn't when viewing playlists featuring the track).

Ahh probably just some old data from earlier versions of Music Assistant. I would assume it automatically updated that over time. It might be a good idea to just completely remove the Deezer provider and then readd to clear any old provider data. But I am glad you figured it out yourself, I was a bit lost on the error the api gives 😄

Oh I removed the provider multiple times, not only including when the tokens were broken last week 😉 Something must still be caching track data somewhere. So far I've been able to fix a good amount of them but some are being resilient as well, so there might still be something else at play.

To rule out a MA database issue you would need to completely remove MA and start again. I know that would be inconvenient sorry.

for me deezer stoped working quite suddenly. MA seems not to be able to authenticate with deezer anymore. I installed everything from scratch, but the authentication process stops with the error that deezer didn't respond within 30 seconds. Tried Firefox, Brave and Chrome

I did also delete the app in the deezer account to re-authenticate with a new token.

Hi guys, and first let's me thank you arctixdev for all the great work!

I am actually experiencing the same issues as other with the "Provider deezer did not load within 30 seconds" error. At first I thought that it was due to my account type not being a HiFi/Premium/Family account. But still it is a paid account (Deezer web), just that Deezer is not offering this subscription plan anymore and I have not changed my plan. So my question is regarding the TOS, are "Deezer Web" accounts explicitly banned from any api use or is it just that it is under the radar because almost nobody has this type of account anymore ?

Hey bebaile, i didnt even know there was a "Deezer Web" account type. I would assume it isnt a problem. But currently the Deezer provider dosnt work for anyone at all. Its a bit more complicated than we originaly thought.

Hmm what excactly do you mean? The provider should show up, it just wont initialize.

Deezer doesn't show up anymore. For more context, I am new to music assistant and I was thus never able to add the Deezer integration. This morning I installed the update that HA proposed me (Current version: 2.0.0b93) and since then Deezer is not proposed anymore as an integration

Yes, actually it was one of the first plan available where for 5 euros you could only play music from your computer web browser (it was a Flash based player) and not download music for offline listening but still no advertising. Eventually they figured out this plan made no sense and they decided to stop providing this cheap meaningless plan and bill twice as much for features that made more sense in a mobile device world. In the end, I kept my 4.99 EUR plan but eventually after some years, they removed all the limitations of my plan. So you understand why I want to keep this plan!

Ok that is wierd indeed. No thats not supposed to happen. There might be some filtering of failing providers or something. I expect it should show up when its fixed.

There's something strange on my installation.
I can connect to my Deezer account, but i cant play any song.
Alle the songs, albums, artists are kind of greyish in the interface and i dont have access to the play menu.
If you need logs, ask me (i couldnt find any error in the logs).

I've tried every combination, but without logging in with my user credentials first (email/phone number & password) it doesn't work for me, even with the latest update on Home Assistant. It's possible using other services to only use the ARL for logging in, but not with MA.

Yes, indeed. But what's the point of logging in with the deezer account and then pasting in the ARL if you can login with using only ARL on other services? It makes no sense in my opinion to include ARL in this phase. Isn't the official "login with deezer" working? If yes why bother and if no you can also get away without the official "login with deezer", having to login with your email, etc... I thinks it's mutually exclusive.

We use the official deezer API for nearly all requests we do. This API works only with an API-Token, which we get when you use the "Authenticate with Deezer"-Button. The ARL is not needed to use this API, but to use the internal, undocumented API. As there is no way to get e.g. streaming URLs from the official API, we need to use the internal API for some requests.
In the past we were able to get the ARL in the background. Then a few months ago, deezer changed something in the internal API and we weren't able to get the ARL automatically anymore. In other tools, you may only need to enter the ARL, but these tools most likely don't use the official API at all but use the internal undocumented API for everything. We decided to avoid using the internal, undocumented API whenever there is a way to do it in the official API as deezer won't change this official API from one day to another, while this could happen to the internal API.
