[Enhancement] Make Administration-Look more like an app... #6699
Comments
@stefan-niedermann: That’s really cool and what I would go for. BUT the plan is to move the admin settings into the apps, where possible. And where not, they should go to the Personal settings (which will then be simply renamed »Settings«). Are you interested in taking one of those tasks up? |
cc @owncloud/designers as well. ^ |
I think this approach would be a great support in the short term - aka better than nothing. |
@stefan-niedermann are you willing to take this up? @DeepDiver1975 since the admin page does not have that much content and is rarely visited, I’d say it’s low on the priority list to make a minor interface change. What it really needs is an information architecture change – which is moving the settings to the Apps management. |
@jancborchardt I would like to, but i have no experience in using git (i'm just doing a little bit with svn). is there any how-to? I'm familiar with eclipse, what do i need for owncloud development etc...? |
@stefan-niedermann http://try.github.io/ is a good introduction to git and here http://owncloud.org/contribute/ you will find more about setting up the owncloud dev environment. If you have question feel free to ask here or in IRC @freenode #owncloud-dev (I'm mjob there) |
For the records: Somewhat related to #11620 |
we will implement this within OC8 |
fixing for oc8 |
...to integrate it more in ownCloud.
now you have to scroll very much and it's difficult to find settings quick
Mockup (because one picture shows more than 1000 words...) in german (if needed i will do one in english language).
opinions?
