Drag and Drop into Breadcrumbs #8570
Comments
@butonic I think you did the drag&drop into breadcrumbs, right? cc @owncloud/designers |
I think there was a similar discussion in another ticket.
There might be other possible approaches, not sure if the one I mentioned is really user friendly. |
Also when holding onto a parent breadcrumb it would also auto-navigate there. |
Yep, @PVince81 how you describe it is how GNOME does it for example. |
We can already drag & drop files to the breadcrumbs to move (upper or lower). http://doc.owncloud.org/server/6.0/user_manual/files/filesweb.html#moving-files Did I understand the request wrong? |
@wakeup it only works for dragging onto parent dirs, but not to deeper levels. |
@PVince81 Ahh, I see. Maybe we can display a |
+1 for this enhancement! |
@colmoneill you interested in working on this? ;) |
Agreed, moving files is extremely difficult. I would love to have a Copy/Cut/Paste option in the '...' menu of items. |
I think I'd still want the drag/drop to breadcrumb. We're past feature freeze, moving to 9.1 |
If someone has time, would be good to make UI mock up proposals for how cut/copy/paste would look like (actions menu vs selection bar vs sidebar vs ...) to see which could be the better approach. |
No more in scope for OC core. Phoenix is the future. |
As a web user, I would like to be able to drag files and folders from inside the files view into the breadcrumbs at the top to make it easier to move files around inside ownCloud.
Today, you can drop files and folders down a level in ownCloud, but you can't drag files up a level. It would be great to be able to drag files around the interface both higher and lower in the file tree.
Not high priority, but a nice to have.
