How to use the energy calibration of the alpha-spectrometer variant

Josep posted two questions in #15 (comment), I will answer one here in order to keep the Issues tab clear from regular questions:

When I use the application Becqmoni in order to study the detections, if I apply the formula that is said on the web for the energy calibration, I get some detections with negative energy. Is this correct?https://github.com/ozel/DIY_particle_detector/wiki/Energy-Spectra#energy-calibration

This is possible if you are not using the same soundcard model and input amplification settings as described in the wiki.
Which kind of audio input connection are you using?
You can try to change the microhpone input volume such, that the raw noise range is smaller than +/- 300. Then the calbration should be somewhat reusable. The trigger threshold should be set at -300. I am not really using Beqmoni myself, so I would need to check how the trigger level is called there.
