Thanks.  I keep wondering whether one needs to unconditionally ship the
underlying Perl module.  In my case (Debian), I could simply install the
libimage-exiftool-perl system package.  Perhaps the package could have
an install time test for system availability of Image::ExifTool, and
fetch the current Image/ExifTools if not?
