I don't seem to be able to activate the pattern dropdown menus with the keyboard. I see that you can tab through the actual links inside, but this doesn't give you the same visual experience of seeing all the options available.
This is a really good idea. I should have thought of it when I landed the jwerty functionality for select keyboard commands. We'll add it to the road map.
@dmolsen Just adding my two cents here. I think it's important to choose these keyboard shortcuts wisely as to not interfere with any user keyboard shortcut assignments.

Understood. It's why all of these use ctrl+shift to keep them away from system commands but that still only gets one so far. I can't predict tools and their own assignments. I'm sure someone will complain if I step on a really popular keyboard shortcut. Like, say, a screenshot utility ;)
And @equivalentideas beat me to what I would have expected to implement in this particular case.

I quite like Filament Group's approach to this: http://filamentgroup.com/lab/expand_and_collapse_content_accessibly_with_progressive_enhancement_jquery/
As a keyboard (not screen reader) user I'd like to have the same experience as pointer users have. Interested to see what others think.
