Maybe the Web Share API can be used? Then you don't have to support specific apps, the OS can handle it.

I had been asked by potential users for Watzapp share, it if is already in Web Share API, as said by @bdcarr then great.

There seems to have been a few releases since the PR was merged and this was moved into upcoming. what's the status of the feature ? I can't see the share buttons on my mac or iOS devices. Tried with multiple browsers too. Is it maybe behind a feature flag ?
