It would be a nice feature to exclude (or include) a specific category from syncing (i.e. category "public holidays") and/or to exclude appointments marked as private.

I concur, I use this to sync my work calendar with a special gmail account so I have meeting reminders on my personal phone, but I don't want it to show me the time I have blocked off for lunch every day.

I would like this one very much as well. Hope it makes the developer's todo list :)

I would like to have an ability to filter out some appointments from sync based on specific words in the title.
People in my company send appointments when they go on PTO etc. and I don't want to sync those.
