Executive Summary

Moon Cheeser is a mobile game aimed for casual players willing to spend some time while waiting for something to happen, like waiting in a line or waiting for a bus.

The game offers a short attention boost, between one and two minutes in order to avoid people being too focused on the game that they lose their affairs.

Although the game is really focused on replayability, the play session is aimed to be between ten to twenty minutes.

The game itself will be open source, which means barely no costs with lawyers and legal investments, the assets themselves will be at creative commons license too in order to lower the costs even more.

The game prototype can be found at this page in itch.io. It already gives an idea of the game aesthetics and core mechanics, which will be improved in order to create a better compelling experience.

High Concept

A mouse is dreaming about an outer space dream where the moon is made of cheese and he keeps running the moon chasing cheese pieces, but in the outer space nothing is just peaceful, is it?

Moon Cheeser prototype

Suddenly some comets appear, avoid them! Take a ride with shooting stars, experience heavy planets gravity pushing and pulling you away from your precious cheeses! Will this cosmic nightmare ever end?

Genre

The game is an infinite runner filled with action. The average actions per minute aimed are from forty to sixty-five. While having simple inputs, the game will offer lots of interactions with the environment in order to create a range of experiences to hook the player and maintain a good audience.

An infinite runner game means that the main objective is to just increase your score while trying to survive the increasing game difficulty. The main compelling feature of this genre is the competitive aspect of it, meaning players will have scores to compete with.

In order to increase the competition aspect, Moon Cheeser will also have hidden features, as said above, which will unlock with achievements fulfilled. This will render the game a good scalability, since new features can be added after the release, increasing the market lifetime of the game.

Target Audience

Since the game is aimed to be a casual mobile game, the major audience of Moon Cheeser is broad, going from children who just want to spend time while the parents are solving problems, to adults willing to be distracted while waiting for specific events to happen.

The game genre allows the audience to be even broader, the genre is simple with no complexity from the player's side since they will only have one input. Also, this allows us to experiment with the audience on the fly, gathering player's data, like who spend more time playing, the average time spent on each session, and focus on new features focused on that audience.
