Cut official release that will compile on FreeBSD.

Shouldn't be undertaken until #1658 is merged.

@andkem can you verify that the last master builds for you on FreeBSD? If you can do that, I'll release and updated version with the fix.

If it passes CI, I'm going to bless 0f91593 and release that should get us the AVX fix for prebuilt binaries and also working again on FreeBSD.
