This slidershape became popular a while ago and is achieved through increasing the slider length value in the .osu file. You end up with something like the first image below

There are a number of ranked sets that use this slider quite frequently, but the slider tails don't show up in lazer. example set https://osu.ppy.sh/s/755651

Considering how much backwards compatibility has been added to the game in the past, it would make sense to support sliders like these, or at least create a new slider formula that is used for stuff created before lazer
