Visible changes

  • HUD layout update. Visuals are not yet final #633.
  • Add song progress display #363.
  • Fix keys passing through the pause and fail screens #640 framework.
  • Fixes to pause menu flow (and possible race condition with fail overlay) #631.
  • Fix mouse-up events passing through to nested inputmanagers #628.
  • Make the cursor trail look correct when the audio clock isn't running #629.

Known issues

  • There may be slight frame drops when switching between some game screens. This will be polished over time. Optimisation is not yet our main goal.
  • Taiko converts may have issues on some maps #597.
  • Taiko major barlines are off-by-one #597.
  • Taiko performance may drop during drum rolls #597.

Visible changes

  • The beatmap details page is now more details at the song select screen #574.
  • Sliderbars sound and behave much better #622.
  • Can now search using source/tags at song select #621.
  • Chat no longer crashes when trying to send a message while not logged in #620.
  • Game focus is now always correct on startup (previously osu! may have keyboard focus without window focus) #625.
  • Fixes crashes when restarting to update. This will only be fixed from the next update, of course! #618
  • Fix combos counting twice in osu! mode #618
  • Improve the look and feel of hotkey retry #618
  • Improve the transition when the menu cursor appears/disappears #618

Internal changes

  • Taiko playfield is now masked properly (not visible in current usage) #623.

Known issues

Changes in this release

  • Cursor/parallax positions are now correct without requiring an initial move of the mouse (startup, gameplay) (#544)
  • Fix regression in visual appearance of osu! judgements (#543).
  • osu! cookie is now in front of the mod select screen (#546).
  • Pressing the back button with mod select open will first close mod select before exiting song select (#546).

Changes in this release

  • Leaderboards now have a tab header, paving way for more future content (#539).
  • Login checkboxes once again have correct wiring to affect each other (#530).
  • Internal refactoring of beatmap handling (#527).
  • Much of the framework for taiko is now merged. Should be coming online in a playable way soon! (#524 #501 #502 #503 #517 #538).
  • Fix menu cursor size not sticking on startup (#532).

Known issues

  • Hit explosions in osu! mode are a bit borked (the 100 300 50 displays).

Happy weekend!

  • Song select optimisations mean that all songs are now loaded in one go, and up to 100x faster. Note that there may be a slight frame drop on entering song select for the first time; this is a known issue and will of course be polished in the future.
  • New menu mouse cursor. Fades out during gameplay.
  • Fixes a bug that may have caused the window to never close on exit (when running at lower frame rates).
