"There are a few resources which are exactly 1024 bytes large. They are in the first chunk, files number 5 to 18. These are the level topology for (some of the) dungeons. They consist of 3 different byte values, arranged in a 32x32 grid. Byte values 0x00 and 0x01 are walls/non-passable objects, while a byte value of 0xff describes a free square. The difference between 0x00 and 0x01 is still unknown, they seem to be alternating in a checkerboard pattern."
