What, and why HYC?

According to the survey conducted by our team, foreign students in Hanyang University have difficulties in adapting school life. 59.5% of students were receiving their school events information through SNS, email, or community sites/apps. However, we've got response that those platforms have low information accesability, and 49% of them have intermediate Korean language skills but having hard time with platforms which is Korean only.
Therefore 90.3% of foreign students agreed that community app for foreign student would be helpful, which means high potential of this app.
This app gives you 3 core services :

• Translation of events written in Korean into each langauge
• Community Function that has translate options
• Calendar that shows our school's event at a glance

HANYANG Exchange (HYC)

HYC는 교환학생들에게 학교 이벤트 및 학사 일정과 같은 유용한 정보들과 동시에 현지 학생들과 소통할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 플랫폼 애플리케이션입니다.

HYC가 무엇이고, 왜 HYC인가요?

저희 팀에서 외국인 유학생 156명을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과에 의하면 유학생들이 학교 생활에 적응하는 데에 어려움을 겪고 있음을 알 수 있었습니다. 59.5%의 학생들이 SNS, 이메일, 커뮤니티 사이트나 앱을 통해서 정보를 얻고 있었습니다. 그러나 해당 플랫폼에서는 낮은 정보 접근성을 가지고 있었고, 또한 49%의 학생들이 초급 수준의 한국어 구사 실력을 가지고 있어 한국어 전용 플랫폼에 적응하기 어렵다고 응답하였습니다.

그렇기 때문에 "90.3%"의 유학생들이 전용 커뮤니티 앱을 만든다면 도움이 될 것 같다고 응답해주셨고, 이것은 해당 애플리케이션의 큰 잠재력을 의미한다는 것을 알 수 있습니다.

이 애플리케이션은 3개의 핵심 기능을 제공할 예정입니다.

• 다양한 매체의 한국어로 설명된 행사 정보를 번역하여 제공
• 각 사용자별 언어 번역 기능이 탑재된 자유게시판 및 커뮤니티 기능
• 행사 및 학사 정보를 한 눈에 볼 수 있는 달력 기능
