No .aab file in package download

The Android download package does not contain the .aab file.
Google Play Store does not use .apk anymore, it requires a .aab file.
When I used PWABuilder previously, it gave me a .aab file.
Please assist.

When generating your Android package, under Signing key, choose Create new. That will create a package with .aab file in it.

I just tested it, and can confirm that if you generate a package with the default Create new signing key selected, an .aab file will be included. Only if you choose none under signing key will an unsigned APK result.
