The .tlf fonts that come with toilet are not necessarily ASCII.
#21 regressed the .tlf support, by expecting fonts to be ASCII.

Maybe we should bundle a .tlf font (or all supported fonts from toilet) in the repo, for the test suite...

In the C locale, python encodes standard input and output as ASCII.
These days, UTF-8 is the only encoding one needs to worry about.
