Deleting messages

There are a number of message-deletion related features in K-9:

  • If you press and hold an account you have an "empty trash" function.

  • You can select a folder from the folder list and empty trash These empties the trash folder. Equivalent to going into the folder then doing "Select All", "Delete", "Expunge"

  • If you press and hold an account and go to advanced you have a "clear messages" function.

This "zaps" the local version of your mailbox, erasing ALL local message data but doesn't do anything that would update the server

  • You can select a folder from the folder list and clear local messages

  • You can select a folder from the folder list and expunge
  • Inside a folder you can go to "More" and you can expunge

These tells your server to permanently erase all the messages you marked as deletedin the folder.
