I didn't see this issue listed, but if I uncheck the option to "Confirm when deleting torrents", it will not delete the files on my drive when I delete a torrent from qBittorrent, even when I previously checked the option (the one you get when the confirm option is checked) . The files remain on the hard drive.

When reporting bugs to a software repository, remember to inform details about your setup, such as your operating system and the version of the program you use.

Maybe it's this way to avoid an accident? Looking at the code it seems that deleting the files from qBit manually is possible with

  1. the delete confirmation dialog
  2. by having Confirm when deleting torrents disabled and using the shortcut shift+del

Having said that i think it would be nice to have a checkbox Also delete files disabled by default, next to Confirm when deleting torrents.
Every time Confirm when deleting torrents is enabled Also delete files will become unavailable and when it is disabled Also delete files will become available BUT will be reset to disabled so that enabling it will be the responsibility of the user in order to prevent accidents.

If you have manually selected "delete files" (not default) as well as
unselected the option to "confirm deletion" (not default), and then delete
files you didn't want to delete, I think that's your own fault.

Both options by default are in the safest settings.

We are closing all issues related to old qBittorrent versions (qBittorrent < 4.1.0).
Please, update to last release and, if the bug/error/crash is still present, open another issue.
Thank you.
