Describe the bug

When editing a layer with vertex node tool and snapping enabled, project is modified as soon as you move cursor on canvas when snapping.

I think I know where it comes from, I'll propose a PR once I get a fix and check everything is fine.

How to Reproduce

  • Open a project with vector layer
  • Start editing layer
  • Select vertex node tool
  • Enable snapping
  • Move on layer
  • the project is modified

QGIS and OS versions

  • QGIS 3.4, 3.10, master
  • Debian bullseye
