  1. Set project CRS to "No Projection"
  2. Add an AMS layer
  3. Reflect on why you chose to do 2
  4. Still nothing shown

I was able to load a layer in which the Provider is "arcgismapserver", even though I had no projection set in the project.
@m-kuhn I'm not sure if this issue is fixed or maybe it is specific to certain data.
